BIO
You may recognize David Kater from several media platforms including television, film, and on the Broadway stage. Recently celebrating the 30th anniversary of the cult classic "Sister Act 2 - Back in the Habit," David and his St. Francis Academy classmates took the internet down singing the movie favorite "Oh Happy Day" with Whoopi and company garnering millions of views by fans all across the globe.

David is also known for his brief but impactful tenure on the hit television series, "The All New Mickey Mouse Club" where he shined in good company with the likes of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Ryan Gosling, Britney, and many more stars that came from the Disney reboot.

Soon after his 4 year journey touring and on Broadway's "Miss Saigon" as the antagonist "Thuy," David began creating content for music, television, and film and has done so for over 20 years. He has been signed to major labels including being a signed recording artist under Dreamworks Records / Redzone entertainment, where David accredits Christopher "Tricky" Stewart (Beyonce, Britney, Tyla, etc) for briefly mentoring but fully inspiring David to uncompromisingly pursue music.
David has composed and written music in over 30 films for networks such as Netflix, TLC, Lifetime Movies, Hallmark, HBO, Disney, and Showtime. He has also musically supported advertising campaigns with numerous recognizable brands including Disney, Carl's Jr. restaurants, Cox Communications, Got Milk Campaign featuring Chris Bosch and Apollo Ono, Vlado Shoes, EA Sports, and more. ​He has also penned hits for several Kpop and Jpop acts such as NCT Dream, Shinee, Loona, and with his first Asian hit on artist Seven.
Scholastically, David is a National Honor Society member of Alpha Sigma Lamda and alumnus of the University of Arizona, and holds a Bachelor's in Business and a Minor in Entrepreneurship and Marketing.
David's training in the arts began early when he was selected to classically train vocally with Placido Domingo, one of the world's greatest tenors, and was also mentored by such greats as the legendary broadway and musical theater director Harold Prince while being cast in his first Broadway-bound show "Roza" originally debuting at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles.

David is also an alumnus of the Los Angeles High School for The Arts (LACHSA) and was a vocal major where he learned vocal styling and technique alongside some of the industry's top and influential vocal recording artists.

A natural with instruments, David is a multi-faceted musician who plays guitar, piano, and percussion, and sings in many different genres including pop, r&b, musical theater, and opera. David also has a non-apparent disability being completely deaf in his left ear which, has been both a challenge but also a benefit to him musically.
